Mary Fears has been named executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County. She previously was marketing director for Leadership Technology Group of Everett.

Martha Dankers will be the 2004 president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. Other officers will be president-elect Eldon Bartelheimer, secretary Sheila Dunn, treasurer Nancy Breuer, and directors Linda Cline, Margo Montel-Westover, Bill Prenevost and Ken Perrine. Debbie Smith will be the immediate past president.

Dan Ackerman has joined ESM as a survey supervisor and project manager. Also joining the firm are Laura Cociasu, whose experience covers site development and utilities design; Jeremy Febus, a project planner and coordinator; Michael Neer, a project manager and designer; and Robert Ludwig, Michael Nazelrod and Sara West, who are design engineers. ESM is a civil engineers and survey firm with offices in Bothell and Federal Way.

Melissa Barran is retiring as the Everett-based Northwest media relations manager for Verizon. She will be replaced by Kevin Laverty.

Claudia Chester has been promoted to a commercial loan officer and Michelle Wetzel as a loan support officer at the Marysville office of Frontier Bank.

Rebecca Villareal has been named to the Washington Commission on Hispanic Affairs. She is vice president and business assistance officer for the Northwest Washington Women’s Business Center, which is located with the Snohomish County Economic Development Council at 728 134th St. SW, Suite 128, Everett.

The Snohomish County Economic Development Council has completed its move to new offices in the Quadrant Business Center, just below its original second-floor location. The development council is now located in the same office as the Edmonds Community College Business and Technology Center as well as the Northwest Washington Women’s Business Center. The new address is 728 134th St. SW, Suite 128, Everett, WA 98204. The telephone number remains 425-743-4567. The council plans an open house in the new offices from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Dec. 17.

WSA and the British Columbia Technology Industries Association have signed a two-year memorandum of understanding to strengthen cross-border networking and partnering opportunities. WSA is the former Washington Software Alliance.
