Lynette Chen-Wagner has been hired as a loan officer for North County Bank’s newest location in Mill Creek, a branch that is scheduled to open in November. Chen- Wagner has experience as a loan officer, branch manager, business consultant, certified Chinese-English interpreter. She has a master’s degree in business administration in marketing and international business. She lives in Lynnwood.

Pam Crayne-Smith of Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County has been named the Homecare Association of Washington 2006 Nurse of the Year. Crayne-Smith has worked with children in home care for the more than 15 years she has been with Providence Hospice. She also was a founding team member of the Carousel Program, one of the first pediatric hospice and home care programs of its kind in the country.

“Good Morning Lake Stevens,” a roundtable networking meeting of the Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce, is set for 7:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Lake Stevens School District Education Service Center, room A. Events

Human Services Council of Snohomish County holds its 21st annual Partnerships Forum from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn of Everett. The theme is “Building Powerful Partnerships.” The event will feature an awards program to honor partnerships between the business community, youth and those working in human services. “The World of Composites: Connecting Students with Today’s Careers” is a workshop offered by the Snohomish County Economic Development Council from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cargo Theater, 1717 Maple Valley Highway, Renton. The third annual Harvest Food Drive by the local Strategic Partners Mortgage Advisory Group runs through Nov. 22. The goal is to raise 4,000 pounds of food for food banks in Snohomish County. Orthodontist Dr. Jason Bourne wants to help kids avoid injury to their braces and their teeth by buying back their Halloween candy. Bourne is paying $4 for each pound of treats surrendered at his offices. Of that, $2 goes to the child and $2 goes to the Boys and Girls Club. Last year, Bourne collected more than 200 pounds of candy.
