American Society of Women Accountants — Seattle Chapter

The mission of the American Society of Women Accountants “is to enable women in all accounting and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of the profession.” The Seattle Chapter of the American Society of Woman Accountants holds monthly dinner meetings, where members have the opportunity to network and attend a scheduled program. The annual membership fee is $153 for regular members, with different rates for students, retirees and affiliate members. Association for Women in Communications — Seattle Professional Chapter

The Association for Women in Communications is dedicated to leading progressive change in communication professions through information exchange, leadership, professional development and technology. According to the group’s Web site, “disciplines represented within the association include print and broadcast journalism, television and radio production, film, advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, multimedia design and photography.” AWC meets on the third Wednesday of most months, alternating meeting times. Association for Women in Computing —

Puget Sound Chapter

The Association for Women in Computing is a nonprofit, professional organization for individuals with an interest in information technology. The Puget Sound Chapter works “to promote awareness on issues affecting women in the computing industry, further the professional development and advancement of women in computing, and encourage women to enter computing as a career.” The group holds monthly networking and program meetings from September through June, excluding December. Seattle Chapter

The Association for Women in Science is dedicated to achieving equity and full participation for women in science, technology, engineering and math. Chapters serving Snohomish County

Business and Professional Women is a national organization founded in 1919 that promotes “equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.” Through its chapters, the organization provides education, community outreach, scholarships, leadership and individual development, mentoring and networking opportunities. Among those chapters serving Snohomish County are the Greater Everett BPW (www.everettbpw.com), the NORTH-5 BPW (serving north Snohomish County to the Canadian border), Olympic View BPW (serving south Snohomish County) and Woodinville BPW. Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW)

The Seattle chapter was formed in 1986 with a mission to “achieve parity in oppor tunity, influence and power in commercial real estate” by providing networking and professional development opportunities. Northwest Women’s Business Center

The Northwest Women’s Business Center provides entrepreneurial training, counseling and small-business loans to women, minorities and disadvantaged business owners throughout Washington state. The center holds Women’s Networking and Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) breakfasts throughout the year in Everett and Marysville as well as After Hours business programs. Soroptimist International

The Everett chapter of Soroptimist International is a volunteer service organization for women in business, management and the professions that focuses on “making a difference for women” in the community as well as funding scholarships for local high school girls and supporting local charitable organizations. Soroptimist International of Sno-King has served South Snohomish and North King Counties since 1964. Zonta Club of Everett
