This is more a commericial property story than a pure biotech story, but it still matters to Bothell.
The county’s largest collection of biotech companies sits in Bothell’s Canyon Park business campus. That main business park and its surrounding additions are home to ICOS, Sonus Pharmaceuticals, Seattle Genetics, SonoSite and a host of other public and private biomedical firms.
And it’s now under new ownership. CarrAmerica, owner of the main Canyon Park campus, has been bought by Blackstone, which also owns commercial properties locally. Here’s the story from the Washington Post, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/06/AR2006030601645.html, and Reuters, http://today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=businessNews&storyID=2006-03-06T175503Z_01_WEN2191_RTRUKOC_0_US-PROPERTY-CARRAMERICA-BLACKSTONE.xml&archived=False.
