SMOKEY POINT — The Plant Farm at Smokey Point announced this week that it’s closing after 20 years in business.
The store at 15022 Twin Lakes Ave. in Marsyville employed 30 people when it closed on Monday. General manager Susie Flores said in an email it was a decision by the shareholders.
“Outside of that information, I do not know the particulars,” Flores wrote.
The store plans to reopen to clear out inventory starting at 9 a.m. Friday offering discounts of all of its plants.
The store will be open every week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until stock is cleared. The store will sell all items in retail at 40 percent off, excluding fixtures, furniture and equipment.
The Plant Farm is asking for people to use gift certificates during the sale. Any gift certificates not redeemed will be turned over to the state as unclaimed property.
