Coastal bank to open new branch today

Coastal Community Bank celebrates the grand opening of its 11th branch location at 2 p.m. today. The new branch is located at 5415 Evergreen Way in Everett. It will also be the future site of the bank’s corporate headquarters. Mayor Ray Stephanson and Coastal Community Bank CEO and president Eric Sprink will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially kick off the bank’s entry into south Everett.

Bothell’s Alder BioPharmaceuticals make stock offering

Bothell-based Alder BioPharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, announced that it has commenced a public offering of its common stock. The public offering of 6 million shares of its common stock is at a price of $29.50 per share to the public. The offering is expected to close Tuesday, subject to customary closing conditions.

New president for Bartell Drugs

Bartell Drugs announced that Brian Unmacht has been named president of the family-owned, 63-store chain. The former REI executive vice president and chief operating officer has served as a member of Bartell Drugs’ board of directors since 2011. Founded in 1890, the Seattle based drugstore chain remains a family-owned business.

United Way releases legislative priorities

In advance of the start of the 2015 legislative session, United Way of Snohomish County released its own list of legislative priorities. These focus on education, financial stability, healthcare and system capacity issues. United Way will also advocate both on behalf of the North Sound 2-1-1 information and referral system and on an adequate transportation package.

Minority, women business enterprise workshop planned

Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises will be in the area putting on a workshop from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the Monroe Library, 1070 Village Way, Monroe. The workshop is free and open to the public. Any business or private individual thinking of starting a business may attend. Visit: http://omwbe.wa.gov/certification/ for more information.
