MUKILEO — CombiMatrix Corp. announced has a new interim president and CEO Monday, signaling a pivotal point in a massive company-wide restructuring.
The biotechnology company’s board of directors appointed Mark McGowan to lead the company as it shifts its focus to diagnostic services and moves operations to Irvine Calif.
Amit Kumar, CombiMatrix’s current president and CEO, will leave the company at the end of this month.
In a prepared statement, Kumar said: “As we had previously announced, I plan to leave the post of President and CEO of CombiMatrix at the end of June and I am looking forward to transitioning that role to Mark, who will continue to execute our restructuring plans in preparation for the appointment of a permanent CEO.”
McGowan was appointed chairman of the board last week. He has been a board member since January.
