EVERETT — Bowlers from Comcast raised $5,500 at Evergreen Lanes on March 6 at a Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser held to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County.
Employees from Comcast, a long-standing corporate partner of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County, came to bowl in support of the mentoring programs offered free of charge by the agency. More than 60 individuals gathered pledges over the past month and joined in the fundraiser.
“Without the generous support from Comcast and its employees, we would not be able to continue our mission to bring mentors to children in Snohomish County,” said April Wolfe, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County. “We’re very grateful for the continued support, especially in this difficult economic time.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides one-to-one mentoring programs, free of charge, to children and families in Snohomish County.
Comcast provides considerable support for the agency both locally and nationally as a partner to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. As media sponsor for BBBSSC, Comcast provides airtime for public service announcements, employee volunteers for specific events such as Bowl for Kids Sake and the Dream Builders Auction, as well as financial support and board member support.
