EVERETT — The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties is offering $30,000 in scholarships to students enrolled in residential construction programs at qualifying technical, community college and university-level programs in Washington.
The scholarships are intended to develop skilled labor for the home building industry. More than 80 percent of construction businesses struggle to find skilled workers, according to a recent survey by the association, a nonprofit trade group, and Redfin, a real estate brokerage.
Founded in 1909, the association, which is dedicated to housing advocacy, community service and financial stewardship throughout the Puget Sound area, has nearly 3,000 member companies.
