It’s time for golfers to sign up for EASC’s 13th annual Banner Bank golf tournament. This event promises great golfing and networking fun. It opens at 11:15 a.m. with registration and a putting contest, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.and ending with barbecue dinner and prizes.

This year will be the first tournament of Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC), the new organization formed by the Everett Area and South Snohomish County chambers of commerce and Economic Development Council of Snohomish County.

If you need an excuse for this fun in the sun, according to golf professionals’ estimates, at least half the golfers on a course at any given time are tying in some work with their play, whether it’s conducting business with existing clients, vying for business with a new client or hosting team-building with employees. Organizers are offering this tournament as a way to give business men and women an opportunity to enjoy a day of golf while conducting business. The benefit of golf from a business standpoint is that there are very few distractions. You can have the client on the golf course with you for five hours. Where else can you get a client’s ear for five hours!

Registration includes cart, golfer gift bag, tournament hat, beverage ticket, commemorative photo, dinner and more.

Contests include closest to the pin, longest drive, highest scores and the most-fun foursome. Other activities occurring during the tournament will include a putting contest during registration sponsored by Washington Stealth Professional Indoor Lacrosse.

Hole-in-one contest from Klein Honda this year will be a hot 2011 Honda Accord coupe equipped with products from their Auto Concepts Northwest shop: Bluetooth, tint, decor package, leather and more.

Golfers will also have a chance during the day to win more valuable prizes donated by EASC member businesses. Some of the prizes donated include hotel stays, carpet cleaning, gift card for the Space Needle, advertising packages in The Daily Herald and Snohomish County Business Journal, and golf items like putters and drivers and more. Volunteers are contacting businesses now to offer them the opportunity to be included.

For hole sponsorships, ccall 425-257-3222, ext. 208, for information and availability. To donate golf-related items or merchandise for each of the 185-golfer and volunteer gift bags, call 425-257-3222, ext. 0, for ideas.
