EVERETT — Construction is under way on a WoodSpring Suites hotel in Everett, part of a Wichita, Kansas-based chain of extended-stay hotels.
The four-story, 122-room hotel is being built at 7707 Broadway Ave. It is the first of 25 hotels to be developed by Bellevue real estate firm West77 Partners across the state.
The cost is expected to be $53,000 a unit, or about $6.5 million total, excluding land costs. The hotel can be seen from I-5 in Everett.
“We’re looking forward to bringing more WoodSpring hotels to the greater Pacific Northwest and introducing the brand to a new customer base,” said Mike Nielson, principal at West77, in a statement.
Other cities identified as potential sites include Lynnwood, Bellingham, Redmond, Tukwila, Tacoma, Kent, Richland, Pasco, Spokane and Vancouver.
The project is expected to be finished by December. West77 is considering opening the hotel in January to allow workers to spend time with families over the holidays.
The hotel in Everett is expected to feature laundry facilities, modified kitchens, a fitness center and high-speed internet.
“Partnering with West77 is a great opportunity for us to expand our footprint as we look to aggressively grow the WoodSpring brand,” said Ron Burgett, executive vice president of franchise development and operations at WoodSpring Hotels.
The hotel company owns 90 hotels and provides management services for company-owned and franchised locations under the WoodSpring Suites and Value Place names.
