MARYSVILLE — Gary Chandler, vice president of government affairs for the Association of Washington Business, will provide a critical briefing on 2011 legislative session and how these decisions will impact your business.
It’s the monthly Business Before Hours breakfast meeting of the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The event runs from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday at Tulalip Casino Resort Canoes Cabaret, 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd., Tulalip. Admission is $23 in advance or $28 at the door.
Chandler, a former state representative, is the association’s chief lobbyist and directs its legislative and regulatory programs.
As a legislator, Chandler co-chaired the House Agriculture and Ecology Committee and served on the committees for Natural Resources and Transportation during the last session. He was first elected to the Legislature in 1990 from Moses Lake and served in the seat once occupied by his father, Glyn.
Chandler has also been a member of the Association of Washington Business’ board of directors. He presently is the owner of the UPS Store in Moses Lake. His past includes time spent as a hay farmer, apple orchardist and manager of his family’s farm implement dealership, as well as a Grant County commissioner. He and his wife, Deborah, now live in Olympia.
Doors Open at 7 a.m. for networking and breakfast. Chandler’s program runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
