Each of Boeing’s 787 partner sites, as well as Everett, has a 747-400 Dreamlifter cargo loader. The loader can be used to move Dreamliner parts into and out of the modified freighters.
The loader spans more than 118 feet long and 27 and a half feet wide. It can carry up to 150,000 pounds of cargo and drive at a whopping 10 miles per hour on its 32 tires. The loader itself weighs 220,000 pounds.
Canada’s TLD manufactured the Dreamlifter loaders for Boeing and its suppliers.
