Free tax workshop: The Everett office of the Washington State Department of Revenue will have a free tax workshop for new and small-business owners from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. in Everett. Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements.
