UPDATE: ANA’s North American spokesman just sent over some information from Tokyo. As far as he’s aware, ANA isn’t looking at a new order of 60 Dreamliners. The initial report out of Japan apparently had even Boeing calling to see if a new 787 deal was on the way.
Here’s an outline of fleet goals from ANA’s corporate plan:
By March 2012:
•Invest $5.5 billion (\630 billion) in aircraft, taking delivery of:
787 x 26 777-300 x 5
737-700/800 x 28
•The following aircraft will be retired: 747-400 (international)
A321
F50
•The fleet will be 50% composed of the most fuel efficient aircraft (777, 787, 737-700/800).
•The introduction of a regional jet will be examined.
Latin America’s GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA wants to increase its fleet size as much as 42 percent in the next seven years, according to a report out this morning.
That’s good news for the Boeing Co. since GOL operates an all-Boeing fleet of 737s and 767s. GOL could buy as many as 45 jets in the next few years.
Japan’s All Nippon Airways also plans to expand its fleet with Boeing planes, Reuters reports. As a 787 launch customer, ANA has seen its Dreamliner delivery slide from May 2008 into sometime in 2009. But that’s not stopping the carrier from ordering up to 60 Boeing Dreamliners.
