PROSSER — Ste. Michelle Wine Estates plans to remake its Snoqualmie Vineyards tasting room at Prosser into a winery this fall for its Hot to Trot wines.
The Tri-City Herald reports the winery will have a tasting bar, lounge and barrel room for the “14 Hands” brand. The name refers to the tall wild horses that lived in the Horse Heaven Hills.
Woodinville-based Ste. Michelle says 14 Hands is one of its fastest-growing brands. More than 1 million cases shipped nationwide in 2012.
The company says the Hot to Trot blend has been the top-selling wine in Seattle and Portland since mid-2011. The grapes come from vineyards in the Columbia Valley.
