LAKE STEVENS — Developers have applied to build an Applebee’s restaurant in the Frontier Village area of Lake Stevens.
If the application is approved by Snohomish County, the chain eatery would be built at the southwest corner of 91st Avenue SE and Market Place, across the street from Haggen Food &Drug and an existing shopping center.
The 2.5-acre site, next to a new housing development, is vacant right now.
Apple American Group of Redmond is the applicant, though local developers also are involved, according to the application with the county.
An Applebee’s location in Marysville opened last year. The sit-down restaurant chain also has locations in Everett, Lynnwood and Bothell.
To allow the 4,800-square-foot business, the county needs to approve a zoning variance, grading and building permits. Written comments on the project will be accepted until Oct. 8, according to the county’s planning department. For more information, e-mail Roxanne.Pilkenton@co.snohomish.wa.us.
