Lazy Boy Brewing is launching a rock-star inspired beer at a public event tomorrow — a beer fans of Queensryche might appreciate.
The beer is called “Whip Ale,” and it’s named for and created by Queensryche guitarist Michael “Whip” Wilton. He’ll be at the event Friday to initiate the new brew into Lazy Boy’s lineup.

Just thinking about it makes me want to break into a heartfelt rendition of Jet City Woman.
“Whip Ale is a locally brewed pale ale. Michael researched the ingredients and put this recipe together himself,” according to a statement on Lazy Boy’s Web site.
The South-Everett brewery is making the beer available to the public for the first time tomorrow. The launch party is at 7:30 p.m. at Valhalla in Kirkland.
The beer will be available for purchase in 2010. And of course, it comes with a pretty rockin’ label.
