New kid at Canyon Park

Alder Biopharmaceuticals, which is tinkering with antibodies cultivated in fast-expanding yeast cells, has raised $11 million in its first round of venture capital financing. This new biotech includes some ex-employees of Celltech, a British firm that had a research lab, now closed, in Bothell. The new company has set up shop on the hill overlooking Canyon Park, not far from Seattle Genetics and SonoSite Inc. Here’s the announcement of their financing deal:
