President Obama had a few choice words for business owners about health-care reform today.
In a Rose-Garden statement, the president talked about making health insurance more affordable for families and businesses. (You can read a full account from the Associated Press here.)
A few comments targeted business owners directly, promising health-care reform would make the insurance process easier and less costly.
“If you lose your job, change your job, or start a new business, you’ll still be able to find quality health insurance that you can afford,” Obama said.
Later, he added: “The status quo on health care is not an option for the United States of America. It is threatening the financial stability of families, of businesses and of government. It’s unsustainable.”
Republicans in congress aren’t convinced the plan will work so well. They say it’s one more way the government is getting too involved in the lives and dealings of citizens.
