OMAHA, Neb. — Ag Processing Inc. says it will be spending millions of dollars to expand its facility at the Port of Grays Harbor in Aberdeen.
The Omaha-based agricultural co-op had optioned 13.5 acres next to its existing facility. It plans to build storage silos and increase its unloading capacity for train shipments.
Senior vice president Mike Maranell said Tuesday that design work has already begun and that site work should begin this fall. He says the construction should be finished by early 2012.
He would not provide a specific cost figure.
He says the project will let AGP increase its ability to ship soybean meal, grains and other ag products throughout the Pacific Rim.
AGP is owned by co-ops representing more than 200,000 farmers in 16 states.
