RIDDLE, Ore. — Roseburg Forest Products says it has laid off almost 120 workers in Douglas County because of poor market conditions.
The layoffs have taken place during the past three weeks. They include 32 hourly and four salaried workers at the company’s plywood plant in Riddle; 54 hourly and five salaried workers at the particle board plant in Dillard; and 22 hourly workers at the plywood plant in Dillard.
The privately held company is the largest employer in Douglas County with about 2,100 workers after the layoffs. It employs about 3,600 workers across the country.
Company officials told the News-Review of Roseburg that they are unsure if the layoffs are permanent or temporary.
