Petersen takes over as president of Rotary Club of Everett

Ed Petersen was sworn in as president of the Rotary Club of Everett on June 28. A club member since 1999, Petersen will lead the club’s 143 members as they provide community and international service and celebrate the club’s centennial year. He is a four-time Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and is employed by Housing Hope. Petersen takes over the presidency from Deborah Wright.

Home Loans expands to Lynnwood

Bellevue-based Evergreen Home Loans, a full-service direct home loan lender, has announced the opening of its new Lynnwood office. The office is located at 3400 188th St. SW, Suite 241, Lynnwood. Branch manager for the new location is Jimi Townsend. Loan officers include Laurel Dennison, Chad Lee, Glenn Hoch, and Lyndzie Thompson.

Chief medical officer joins Bothell’s Alder BioPharmaceuticals

Bothell-based Alder BioPharmaceuticals has appointed Dr. Timothy M. Whitaker as chief medical officer. Whitaker will provide strategic oversight of Alder’s clinical development pipeline and will also be responsible for clinical operations and medical and regulatory affairs. He brings 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry leading and managing global clinical development programs.

Marysville Tulalip chamber carnival opens this week

The Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce second annual Chamber Carnival is Thursday through Sunday at Quil Ceda Village between Home Depot and Cabela’s. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Discounted pre-sale wristbands for rides are on sale now for $15 at the chamber office and HomeStreet Bank at 1238 State Ave. in Marysville.

Community Transit holds business development event

Community Transit’s Business Development Program kick-off event is 4 to 6 p.m. on July 12 at 7100 Hardeson Road, Everett. The presenter is Larry Adeyemi, founder and president of Green Project Solutions Group. Space is limited, registration is highly recommended. Light refreshments will be provided. Workshop focuses on Port of Everett

Go Global is a workshop that aims to provide businesses with the resources and information needed to pursue international markets. It includes a Port Report about the Port of Everett’s current projects and expansion plans. This year’s event is scheduled for 5 p.m. July 14.
