EVERETT — Port of Everett staff surprised CEO Les Reardanz with a send-off luncheon Friday to wish him well on his upcoming eight-month deployment to Afghanistan.
Port employees wore “Team Reardanz” T-shirts during the luncheon in the port’s Blue Heron Room at Waterfront Center.
Reardanz is a captain in the Navy Reserves, the equivalent of a colonel in other military branches. He’s been called up to active duty.
He’s scheduled to serve from February through October. He’ll work with a command group in Afghanistan that trains and assists Afghan National Security Forces.
