The state Department of Licensing has increased its offering of online business licenses from five to more than 90, making it easier for business owners to register for licenses needed to sell products such as tobacco, wine and beer, and lottery tickets. For more information, go to www.dol.wa.gov.
Sno-Isle Libraries is receiving grant money that will pay for 30 notebook computers to be lent to job seekers, and allow the waiving of a two-hour-a-day limit on the units. The notebook computers will be available at the Darrington, Granite Falls, Lynnwood, Marysville, Oak Harbor, Stanwood and Sultan libraries.
Actor R. Lee Ermey, who played the intimidating drill sergeant in Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket,” has signed on as spokesman for Lynnwood-based SOG Specialty Knives and Tools. SOG makes specialty knives and tools for the military, law enforcement, tradesmen and outdoorsmen. Ermey was a Marine for 11 years.

The Downtown Everett Marketing Community will present a three-session seminar series called “Factors in Profitability.” The 45-minute sessions will help small business owners learn how to improve their profitability.
