“Section 179” could be your new best friend if you’re looking to acquire equipment for a small business. Say you need an espresso machine. Or a tractor.
Or a robot.
Okay, maybe even one of these.
Section 179 is a federal tax deduction that lets businesses write off up to $134,000 for buying equipment, as long as they spend less than $530,000 a year on those kinds of purchases.
The program’s interpretation of equipment is fairly broad, from machinery to office furniture. (And I wasn’t kidding about robots.)
