LYNNWOOD – When Mike Echelbarger grew up in south Snohomish County 50 years ago, I-5 hadn’t been built and no one had even imagined Alderwood mall.
Alderwood Manor, as the area was known, could fairly be called countryside at that point.
“Lynnwood was a tavern, a department store and Highway 99. It wasn’t anything,” Echelbarger said.
