EVERETT — The Daily Herald Co. laid off 10 employees on Tuesday, as the company deals with a steep decline in advertising revenue and a challenging environment for newspapers.
Herald Publisher Allen Funk said the job cuts are part of a restructuring plan in response to double-digit percentage declines in advertising revenue.
The Daily Herald Co. includes not just the Everett-based Herald daily newspaper and Heraldnet.com, but also the Enterprise weekly papers in south Snohomish County, the Spanish-language La Raza weekly, the Snohomish County Business Journal and Seattle’s Child, a free monthly parenting guide distributed in the Puget Sound area.
