See these people here? Some might say each is the luckiest son of a gun to ever hold down a job.
They work at Social Strata, a Seattle-based social media company that’s letting its 14 employees take as much paid leave as they need — whenever they want.
In a blog post, the founders wrote that it comes down to trusting employees and hiring the right people.
“Disciplined people will ensure that their responsibilities are handled, and still be able to recharge their batteries with time off,” President Rosemary O’Neill wrote. “Undisciplined people who take advantage of the system will reveal themselves and be naturally sorted out.”
The company is trying to create a culture of discipline, where employees own their work and put in as much time as is necessary to achieve good results.
