BOTHELL — Insurance software provider Vertafore plans to keep its Bothell offices open despite an erroneous report that the company was shutting them down.
Vertafore has relocated its headquarters from Bothell to Denver and as part of the move announced it would layoff 121 employees at its south Snohomish County offices. Those employees were notified in January. That number includes some employees who were offered, but didn’t accept relocation.
On Monday, Vertafore filed a notice with the state about the layoffs. The Washington Employment Security Department inadvertantly listed “Closure” instead of “Layoff” when sending out a notice about the job cuts. That was incorrectly reported by Seattle area media.
The state agency confirmed and apologized for the error. Vertafore in a statement said the company has no plans for additional layoffs in Bothell.
Last year, Vertafore had 475 employees in Bothell. The company has declined to disclose the number that remain.
