The next month will be tiring for some business owners. There might be some yawning. Maybe even a few cat naps here and there.
See, there’s this little thing called the World Cup — and some people seem pretty excited about it.
Bars and restaurants around the Puget Sound region are planning on cashing in on soccer fans who want to watch the games in good company. The thing is, the games are being played in South Africa this year — and they’ll start locally in the wee hours of the morning.
Oh, sports fans. I’ll never understand you. All the soccer games in the world couldn’t get me out of bed before 7 am.
Luckily, some business owners get it.

“There’s one time when it’s Friday night and I close at 3 (a.m.), then the first game Saturday morning is at 4:30,” said Geoffrey Wall, owner of the Piccadilly Circus Pub in Snohomish. “I’ll just crash here for an hour, then open at 4.”
