MARYSVILLE — A water main at State Avenue and 100th Street NE broke early Monday morning, flooding the street and knocking out service to about 20 customers.
The first alert of the break came at 1:30 a.m., said Gloria Hirashima, the city’ chief administrative officer.
City crews quickly closed State Avenue at the site of the break and shut off the water. Service was restored to the area later on Monday.
The Brookside mobile home park and several businesses on the west side of State Avenue lost water service.
City customers around 88th Street east of I-5 likely will have low water pressure while the city reconfigures its piping system around the break.
Some discoloration also was reported in the water in the area. The city is flushing the mains in order to try and address it, Hirashima said.
The break also affected the city’s 88th Street connection that supplies water to the Tulalip reservation. The Tulalip Tribes have been monitoring their reservoir level and could supplement their system with well water if needed, Hirashima said.
