It’s Friday afternoon, which naturally means what we’re all really thinking about is the weekend. So here a few ideas for things to do:
First Friday: Head to Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island and enjoy a lasagna dinner, art, live music, and wine and cheese tastings from 5 to 8 tonight. More information here.
Get outside: Check out the Eagle Festival in Arlington from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The festival includes bird watching, a talk with live birds by the Sarvey Wildlife Center, an art and photography show, a scavenger hunt and an ugly chicken contest. Learn more at the city’s Web site.
Have a culinary adventure: Herald reporter Theresa Goffredo loved the food she had at at Marielle’s Taste of Asia, a Filipino restaurant in Marysville. It also got great reviews on Yelp. If you’d like to decide for yourself, Marielle’s is at 4711 64th St. NE in Marysville.
Visit the library: Local libraries often have fun events on the weekend, and this one is no exception. The Sultan Library is celebrating its centennial Saturday with a bake and book sale from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Marysville Library invites kids to “ski, skate and race” in its Silly Olympics from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. And teens can meet members of the Jet City Rollergirls and learn about roller derby at the Mountlake Terrace Library from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
That football game: If your plans mostly revolve around the Super Bowl this weekend, check out this nacho recipe, plus a couple ideas from The Forum.
