If you love adorable little kids and You Tube videos this one of 5-year-old Wesley playing “Folsom Prison Blues” on guitar may be old news to you.
My six-degrees of separation for finding this video now is is that my best friend Marina just told me about it because one of her longtime friends is Wesley’s mom.
The Internet debate behind this cutey kid ranges from “wow, it’s great what 5-year-olds can learn,” to “I wish I would have started at that age,” to “how disgraceful it is to have this kid exposed to that kind of grim material.”
I don’t know. I’m thinking little Wesley is probably the best thing that’s happened to the gun debate, which has never brought us warm and fuzzies. But hearing this little guy singing about how he “shot a man in Weeno just to watch him die,” and how when he was just a baby his Mama told him, “Son, always be a good boy, Don’t ever pway with guns” starts the debate with a weally big smile.
What do you think?
