Tuesday’s long-anticipated first flight of Boeing’s 787 airplane was a triumphant day for Washington and, surely, for chief 787 test pilot and Boeing engineer Mike Carriker, who was at the controls for the breathtaking event.
But did you know Carriker and his wife, Karen, were featured in The Herald’s Home &Garden section in 2007 for their newly remodeled kitchen in Everett?
That means not only does this lucky man — quite a nice guy, we thought — get to fly historic flights, but he also has a charming family and a cool place in which to cook.
The Carrikers’ newly remodeled kitchen featured maple and walnut cabinets along with quartz countertops, iron hardware and silver-gray accent tiles.
