“American Sniper,” “Boyhood” and “Big Hero 6” are among the feature film nominees for the American Cinema Editors’ 65th ACE Eddie Awards.
The Eddie Awards recognize outstanding achievement in editing in film, TV and documentaries.
For only the second time in the organization’s history, there was a tie in the best edited feature film (dramatic) category, resulting in six nominees.
Nominated Friday for best edited feature film (dramatic) are Joel Cox and Gary Roach for “American Sniper”; Sandra Adair for “Boyhood”; Kirk Baxter for “Gone Girl”; William Goldenberg for “The Imitation Game”; John Gilroy for “Nightcrawler”; and Tom Cross for “Whiplash.”
Best edited feature film (comedy or musical) nominations went to Douglas Crise and Stephen Mirrione for “Birdman”; Fred Raskin, Hughes Winborne and Craig Wood for “Guardians of the Galaxy”; Wyatt Smith for “Into the Woods”; Leslie Jones for “Inherent Vice”; and Barney Pilling for “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”
Vying in the best edited animated feature film category are Tim Mertens for “Big Hero 6”; Edie Ichioka for “The Boxtrolls”; and David Burrows and Chris McKay for “The Lego Movie.”
Nominated for best edited documentary (feature) are Mathilde Bonnefoy for “Citizenfour”; Aaron Wickenden for “Finding Vivian Maier”; and Elisa Bonora for “Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me.”
Among the television nominees are “The Roosevelts: An Intimate History”; “Transparent”; “True Detective”; “Fargo”; and “Sherlock: His Last Vow.”
The awards will be handed out in a ceremony Jan. 30 at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
