Art at the Schoolhouse: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 28, Christianson’s Nursery, 15806 Best Road, Mount Vernon. While visiting the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, also visit Christianson’s historic 1888 Schoolhouse for a show of local artists from the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild. “It’s Raining Art: This is the second annual public art show and sale hosted by the Marysville Arts Coalition and features displays by local artists, artwork including paintings and jewelry, silk scarves and photography, live music and treats, hands-on creative activities and craft wine and spirit sampling from 4 to 8 p.m. April 26 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27, in the building formerly occupied by Dunn Lumber at 1410 Grove St., Marysville. Mukilteo Library Sculpture Display: The display includes work from Louie Cruz, instructor, and artwork of his students where the wood is ‘as found’, and after cleaning and sanding, a soft smooth finish is obtained by an application of beeswax. The display is up through the month of April at the library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Mukilteo.

Also: “Doggie Divas and the People Who Love Them — Paintings of dogs and their people,” by Patty Forte Linna who will show her pastel and oil paintings of dogs and their handlers from May 4 to June 1. This video exhibition uses two full-wall video projections to juxtapose a temporal earth, with waterfalls, wave and wind-blown grass, to the sun as it erupts with flares and storms; on view through May 3.

The Edmonds Arts Festival: Kate Larsson has been selected as the artist for the 2013 Edmonds Arts Festival marketing poster with her painting, “Ferry and Poppies.” Larsson will have a booth on the field during The Edmonds Arts Festival which is June 14, 15 and 16.
