Whidbey Working Artists Summer Open Studio Tour: The self-guided tour around Whidbey Island, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 21-22, features 49 studios and 63 artists. This tour has all kinds of art – from painting and mixed media, to sculpture, jewelry, glass and clay. You may have seen the work of these artists at local galleries or on websites, but now you can see where they work and how they get their inspiration. More at www.whidbeyworkingartists.com.
Fresh Paint: This festival of artists at work is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 21-22, Port of Everett Marina, 1700 W. Marine View Drive. The Schack Art Center turns the Everett waterfront’s promenade into a huge outdoor studio and sidewalk gallery. Free admission, $4 parking at port. Edmonds Arts Festival: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 27-28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 29, at Frances Anderson Cultural Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds. More than 200 artists share and sell fine art, artisan crafts and photography. Features a juried art show and sale, student art exhibit, a variety of performing arts, food and kids’ activities. Delta Art Experience: The Delta Neighborhood Association presents a self-guided tour of pop-up art in homes and gardens from noon to 4 p.m. around Jackson Park, 3302 18th St., Everett. There will be an interactive mural, children’s activities, live music, food trucks and poetry at the park. Take a virtual tour of the Schack Art Center’s galleries, store, hot shop and silversmithing studio.The exhibits “Alfred Currier: Impasto” and “Anne Schreivogl: Pull Up a Seat to Summer” opened Aug. 5. Currier paints vibrant landscapes in oil impasto from the studio he maintains in Anacortes. Schreivogl, also from Anacortes, paints in an upbeat, colorful style using acrylic. Cascadia Art Museum: The museum, at 190 Sunset Ave. S., Edmonds, is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Admission for members and students is free, adults $10, military and seniors $7, and families (two adults and up to three children) $25.
