Cascadia Art Museum: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. On third Thursdays, the museum is open until 8 p.m. and is free during Edmonds Art Walk hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Located at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds. Admission is $10, discounts for seniors and students; 425-336-4809; www.cascadiaartmuseum.org. “A Spirit Unbound: The Art of Peggy Strong” through Jan. 8, along with “Northwest Sculpture: Five Decades of Form and Innovation” and “Northwest Paintings and Studio Ceramics: A Regional Perception” through August 2017. The museum’s annual show of vintage Christmas cards by Northwest artists such as George Tsutakawa, Virna Haffer and Paul Morgan Gustin, is displayed through Jan. 8. On Nov. 17, take advantage of a 10 percent discount in the museum shop.
Museum of Special Art: Noon to 4 p.m.Wednesday through Saturday, 720 238th St. SE, in Country Village, Bothell; www.museumofspecialart.org. “Colors of My World” exhibition is up through March 24. The exhibition features award-winning artist David Baker who was born with cerebral palsy. Throughout his life he does not remember a time when he did not create art. He earned a degree in art at Central Washington University and it was there that he discovered the art of manipulative photography and digital artwork.

Schack Art Center: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org. Free admission. Schack classes include holiday gift-making, drawing, printmaking, basketry, jewelry and metalsmithing, encaustic, painting, fused glass, blown glass. The show “Pressing On” by Seattle Print Arts opens Nov. 17, as does the annual Holiday Exhibit. Teen Nights, which offer a chance to try different art projects, are free and set for 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Feb. 9, March 16, April 13 and May 11. Gale Johansen has been selected the Schack’s 2017 artist of the year. A solo exhibit of her work is scheduled for Aug. 2017.
County Arts Commission: Six new pieces of art are displayed through December at the Snohomish County government campus, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett, as part of the 2016 Sculpture Exhibition sponsored by the Snohomish County Arts Commission.

June Sekiguchi’s installation “River Run” is displayed through Dec. 8. Inspired by rivers, Sekiguchi’s work involves manipulated material that is pattern based.
Everett Community College’s Russell Day Gallery: The gallery is in Parks Hall on campus, 2000 Tower St., Everett. Through Dec. 2, see “Out of the Shadows: John Simpson’s Current Work and Retrospective.” Simpson, raised in Edmonds and educated at Everett Junior College, University of Washington and Yale University, is a former EvCC art instructor. The well-known Monroe-based artist works in a variety of media, including oils, spray on plexiglass, colored ink pens, and he has done set design work for major theaters in the region.
