Arts of Snohomish shows new works by Elizabeth Henderson, including “Musicians.”

Museums/events

Cascadia Art Museum: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. On third Thursdays, the museum is open until 8 p.m. and is free during Edmonds Art Walk hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Museum is at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds. Northwest Sculpture: Five Decades of Form and Innovation and Northwest Paintings and Studio Ceramics: A Regional Perception are displayed through August. Botanical Exuberance: Trees and Flowers in Northwest Art is exhibited through June 25.

Schack Art Center: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org. Free admission. Schack classes include drawing, printmaking, basketry, jewelry and metal smithing, encaustic, painting, fused glass and blown glass. Teen Nights on May 11. Fiber Fusion, a group exhibition featuring 80 members of the Surface Design Association of Washington State, is up through April 15. Through April 30, see the 2017 Black and White Photo Exhibit by Snohomish County high school students. The Schack is seeking work for its annual Art of the Garden show, June 15-Sept. 2 and for its Fresh Paint festival, Aug. 19-20. Museum of Special Art: Noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, 720 238th St. SE, in Country Village, Bothell; www.museumofspecialart.org. Inner Reflections is the museum’s show in honor of Autism Awareness Month.

Edmonds Historical Museum: 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday in the old Carnegie Library, 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds; $5 for adults, $2 for students; 425-774-0900; www.historicedmonds.org. Current show is Edmonds in Focus, an extensive collection of photographs of the city. Closes April 23.

Hibulb Cultural Center: Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. weekends. Free on first Thursdays until 8 p.m.; 6410 23rd Ave. NE, Tulalip; 360-716-2635; www.hibulbculturalcenter.org. Vibrant Beauty: Colors of Our Collection is displayed until fall. The interactive exhibit allows visitors to explore how color has influenced Coast Salish people and how it is used today.

Third Thursday Art Walks: Lots of new work is displayed during the Everett Art Walk and the Art Walk Edmonds on the evening of April 20. More at everettartwalk.org and artwalkedmonds.com. In Edmonds, pick up a map at Gallery North, 401 Main St. In Everett, pick up a map at Black Lab Gallery, 1618 Hewitt Ave.

Quilceda Carvers: The Marysville-based wood carvers group will present its 32nd annual show of new works, Artistry in Wood, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 22 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23 at the Ken Baxter Community Center, 514 Delta Ave., Marysville. Free for children, active duty military and scouts in uniform, but a $5 donation requested for general admission. More at www.quilcedacarvers.org.

Index Arts Festival: Applications are being accepted for booths for the 2017 festival, set for Aug. 5. More at indexartsfestival.com.

Everett Quilt Show: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 29, Event Center at Xfinity Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave. Cost is $5.

Everett Public Schools: The district’s 19th annual art shows are displayed through the end of the school year at the Community Resource Center, 3900 Broadway, Everett. The High School Art Show is up through April 27, the Middle School show, May 3-18, and the Elementary School show is May 23 to June 6.

Anabel’s Gallery: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 2531 Broadway, Everett; 425-258-6402; www.anabelsgallery.com. See work by Aleksandr Kargopoltsev and Jerry Laktonen.

Art Loft Sisters at Fisherman’s Market and Grill: Regular business hours at 1032 W. Marine View Drive, Everett. Through May 1, see artworks by Susan Rothschild, a former model for Salvador Dali and Bert Stern. First a photographer, Rothschild moved into digital art. She prints a combination of watercolor and giclee on glass, tile, porcelain, cotton and paper. Also featured will be Debby McCoy and her clay masks.

Arts of Snohomish Gallery: Noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at 1024 First St., No. 104; 360-568-8648; www.artsofsnohomish.com. During April, see works by Billy Barkley and Elizabeth Henderson. Reception is 3 to 7 p.m. April 29.

Black Lab Gallery: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 1618 Hewitt Ave., Everett; blacklabonlinegallery.com. Monica Jane Frisell exhibits photographic portraits taken in the Northwest, as the gallery helps kick off her coast-to-coast trip and expand her project titled “Looking Forward — Portraits from an RV.”

Citrine Health Gallery: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 2940 W. Marine View Drive, Everett; 425-259-9899; www.citrinehealth.org. Acrylic paintings by Janie Whited are displayed in April.

Edmonds Library Gallery and Frances Anderson Center: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 650 Main St. New watercolors of local scenes by Judith Larsen are displayed through April 28. Everett Community College’s Russell Day Gallery: Room 219, Parks Student Union, 2000 Tower St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. See college photos and memorabilia at the gallery during the college’s 75th anniversary celebration through May 5.

Lynnwood Convention Center: An art exhibition, curated by Everett’s Schack Art Center, is displayed through June at the convention center. The exhibit can be viewed during regular business hours Monday through Friday at the center, 3711 196th St. SW.

Mountlake Terrace Library Gallery: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 23300 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace; 425-776-8722; www.sno-isle.org. During April, Angela Kelly shows encaustics that represent her love of the outdoors.

Snohomish County Arts Commission: In the lobby of the Bob Drewel Building (on the county campus at Rockefeller and Wall streets in Everett) see portraits by artist Jeffrey O’Boyle through April. He is a member of the Portrait Society of America.

Tsuga Fine Art: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, until 5 p.m. Friday and until 4 p.m. Saturday, at 10101 Main St., Bothell; www.tsugafineart.com. Opening reception for Protest Art exhibit is 4 to 7 p.m. April 8. The show then moves to Cascadia Community College April 15-May 1.

Admission is $7, with discounts for students, children, military and members. Formerly the La Conner Quilt Museum, the organization is celebrating 20 years with numerous new exhibits.
