Museums/events

Cascadia Art Museum: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. On third Thursdays, the museum is open until 8 p.m. and is free during Art Walk Edmonds hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Museum is at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds. Northwest Impressions: The Paintings &Etchings of Paul Morgan Gustin is displayed through Sept. 24. Northwest Sculpture: Five Decades of Form and Innovation and Northwest Paintings and Studio Ceramics: A Regional Perception are displayed through August.

Seattle Art Fair: Cascadia Art Museum will be at the fair, Aug. 3-6 at CenturyLink Field Event Center. Founded by Paul Allen, the fair brings together modern and contemporary artists, collectors, museums and galleries. Schack Art Center: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org. Free admission. Schack classes include drawing, printmaking, basketry, jewelry and metal smithing, encaustic, painting, fused glass and blown glass. Artist of the Year Gale Johansen exhibits My Swirly Brain &Other Oddies beginning with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10. The Art of the Garden show is exhibited through Sept. 2; Interwoven Dialogues: The Architecture of Basketry, from Susan Gans and the Everett Museum of History, is shown through Aug. 27. The Schack’s Fresh Paint Festival of Artists at Work is Aug. 19-20 at the Port of Everett Marina.

Hibulb Cultural Center: Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. weekends. Free on first Thursdays until 8 p.m.; 6410 23rd Ave. NE, Tulalip; 360-716-2635; www.hibulbculturalcenter.org. Vibrant Beauty: Colors of Our Collection is displayed until fall. The interactive exhibit allows visitors to explore how color has influenced Coast Salish people and how it is used today.

Pacific Northwest Quilt &Fiber Arts Museum: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at 703 S. Second St., La Conner; www.qfamuseum.org; 360-466-4288. Admission is $7, with discounts for students, children, military and members. Formerly the La Conner Quilt Museum, the organization is celebrating 20 years with numerous new exhibits.

Museum of Northwest Art: Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 121 First St., La Conner; www.monamuseum.org. Free. Currently featuring glass by Stanwood-area artist Kelly O’Dell.

Mill Creek Summer Art Walk: 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Mill Creek Town Center. The information booth is next to Boston’s restaurant at 153rd Street SE and Main Street. More at www.cityofmillcreek.com/artwalk.

Third Thursday Art Walks: Lots of new work will be displayed during the Everett Art Walk and Art Walk Edmonds on the evening of Aug. 17. In Edmonds, the walk starts at 5 p.m. and in Everett, the walk begins at 6 p.m. More at everettartwalk.org and artwalkedmonds.com.

Big August Hoobajoob Art Show: The seventh annual exhibit, featuring work by Gordy Beil, Ron Wolff and Holly Cannell, is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 19 and noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at 605 S. Emens Ave., Darrington.

Lynnwood Convention Center: An art exhibition, curated by Everett’s Schack Art Center, is displayed through December at the convention center, 3711 196th St. SW. The exhibit can be viewed during regular business hours Monday through Friday. The show will feature works by the Korean American Artist Association, including artists Miho Chung, Hyosoon Jung, Grace Kim, Jae Kim, Nam Kim, Sunyoung Kim, Jennifer Kwon, Junkyu Lee, Monica Namkung, Si Nam, Kyong Oh, Yang Park and Yuni Wong.
