Band of Horses graduated to a major label, Columbia Records, to release its third album, “Infinite Arms,” now in stores.
TRIVIA: The rootsy rock group, based in North and South Carolina, used to be on Seattle’s indie powerhouse, Sub Pop Records.
STANDOUTS: Frontman Ben Bridwell shows off the band’s skillful harmonies on the upbeat song “Dilly.”
FANS DIG: Road trips
ANDY SAYS: Band of Horses always threaded a very thin needle, churning out songs that managed to sound both simple and grand, urban and rural, and of-the-moment and timeless. “Infinite Arms” lacks a smidgen of the charm of the group’s past efforts but still manages to top most of the band’s peers.
GRADE: A-minus
