Musical duo, guitarist and singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney, are The Black Keys, the Ohio alt-rock band.

Although they’ve been playing together since both musicians were in grade school, the band’s success has come largely in the past decade. Today their music is heard widely and they play to huge arenas.

They’ve been praised as one of the best bands playing today, sweeping in top honors.

“El Camino,” the band’s 2011 release, was widely proclaimed to be the best album of the year.

The equally good band, Arctic Monkeys, are opening.

Catch the concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at KeyArena, 305 Harrison St., Seattle.

Tickets are $37 to $47 at ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000.

The beautiful and multi-talented Kristin Chenoweth will grace the stage at the Paramount on Wednesday.

Known for her work on stage, TV and film, this performance showcases her incredible voice.

She’s touring to support her 2011 release, “Some Lessons Learned.”

Chenoweth performs at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., Seattle.

Tickets are $31.25 to $121.25 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.

Grammy winning saxophonist Kenny Garrett brings his band to Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley for two nights beginning Tuesday.

Having spent more than three decades playing jazz, he’s now considered one of the greatest alto-sax players.

Then Jazz Alley honors the great drummer Jack DeJohnette. He’s touring as part of his 70th birthday celebrations, accompanied by Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke.

The Jack DeJohnette Trio opens on Thursday and continues with sets through Sunday, Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley, 2033 Sixth Ave., Seattle.

Kenny Garret tickets are $24.40, Jack DeJohnette tickets are $50, both at www.jazzalley.com or 206-441-9729.
