With machinists back on the line at Boeing Co., the airplane maker plans to resume its popular factory tours on Monday, and then offer a special discount on Veterans Day.
Factory tours include a walk through the largest building in the world by volume — a massive 472 million cubic feet. Visitors walk about a third of a mile on the 90-minute tour, viewing the 747, 777 and 787 Dreamliner assembly lines.
The tours were suspended during the labor dispute that lasted 57 days.
For reservations, go to www.futureofflight.org or call 800-464-1476. Tickets for adults are $15, $14 for ages 65 and older, or $8 for children ages 15 and younger.
On Tuesday, however, all veterans in uniform or with a military ID receive free admission, while others pay half price. Reservations cannot be made in advance during the one-day-only event.
Factory tours, which include admission to the Future of Flight Aviation Center, are held at 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo. For safety reasons, all visitors must be 4 feet or taller to take the tour, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
