Anna Johnson, author of “Australia Years: The Life of a Nuclear Migrant,” will talk about her experiences in Australia during the Cold War at 2 p.m. today at the Everett Library. Johnson will sign copies of the book following the discussion.
“Project Runway” style consultant Tim Gunn will talk about his experiences on the TV show and offer some of his advice about style, shopping the chain stores and getting the right fit, as he pitches his book, “Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste &Style” at 7 p.m. Monday at Third Place Books. If you buy the book at Third Place you’ll be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from Stitches, a Capital Hill fabric store, or box sets of the first two seasons of “Project Runway” on DVD.
Local author Genoa Caldwell offers a slide presentation based on her book on Burton Holmes’ travelogues at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Third Place Books. Holmes photographed and wrote about his world travels.
Nicole Mones, author of “Lost in Translation,” will read from and sign her new book, “The Last Chinese Chef,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Third Place Books. Mones’ story is of a young American widow who travels to China to investigate her late husband’s secret life and to research a magazine article on a rising young chef.
