It’s murder and mayhem week at the bookstores.
Michael Collins signs his novel “Lost Souls,” about a cop trying to investigate the hit-and-run death of a child that the town seems to be covering up, at noon Tuesday at Seattle Mystery Bookshop. The Ireland-born author who now lives in Bellingham will also appear at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Bay Book Co.
Sheriff Dave Reichert will talk about his true account of 20 years on the trail of the Green River killer at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Third Place Books. Purchase “Chasing the Devil” ($24.95) at Third Place to receive a numbered ticket for the book signing.
Author and firefighter Earl Emerson touts his latest thriller, “Pyro,” which follows a Seattle firefighter’s personal quest to stop an arsonist who may have killed the lieutenant’s father 25 years before. Emerson will sign books at noon Wednesday at Seattle Mystery Bookshop and at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Third Place Books.
For a lighter touch, meet the author of the Bed and Breakfast Mystery series, Mary Daheim, and her latest pun-titled novel, “This Old Souse.” Daheim writes mysteries set in various Northwest locales. She will read and sign at 7 p.m. Thursday at Third Place Books.
