“Don’t be so eager to leave the kid’s table.” That’s one of Walker Lamond’s “Rules for My Unborn Son.”
The TV documentary producer and now author came up with this book, which, like Robert Fulghum’s “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” has words for all to live by.
Some of the advice is timely as we mix it up with our relatives over the holidays: “When it comes to opening presents, no one likes a good guesser,” or “Spend time with your cousins. You’re more alike than you think.”
“Rules” ($14.99) would make a great stocking stuffer for dads, soon-to-be-dads or sons, with its gentlemanly advice (“When in doubt, wear a tie.”) and manly theorems (“A man’s luggage does not have wheels.”).
