OK, Mom: What’s on the menu tonight?
Breakfast for dinner? How about a picnic in the family room?
“Why not?” asks Jeanne Muchnick in her new book, “Dinner for Busy Moms,” about how to “turn off the TV and get back to the table (without a revolt).”
Muchnick, a freelance writer and former magazine editor raising two teenage girls, calls her latest work a strategy book, not a cookbook.
She explains how to shop in your own pantry, save money at the grocery store with smart shopping and nourish kids of all ages. She also provides foolproof recipes for inspiration.
Her main goal is getting the entire family together for dinner. Yes, take-out Chinese food and pizza delivery count: “It’s not about what you’re serving that matters, but that you’re sitting together in the first place.”
See www.jeannemuchnick.com or www.dinnerforbusy moms.com for more information about the book, which lists at $16.95.
