Scriber authors

6 p.m. Sept. 20, Edmonds Library

Former and current Scriber Lake High School students will read from a collection of books published by the school. The authors wrote autobiographical narratives. The event is at the library, 650 Main St., Edmonds.

6 p.m. Sept. 21, Everett Public Library

Get help from publishing veterans to navigate the changing terrain of book publishing at a free information session. Thayer is a University of Washington writing instructor and the author of 14 novels, including “House of Eight Orchids.” Ayers co-hosts the internet radio show “Beyond the Cover,” is a freelance book reviewer and is the author of several books. The library is at 2702 Hoyt Ave.

7 p.m. Sept. 22, University Book Store, Mill Creek

The best-selling mystery writer, a favorite at the Mill Creek Town Center store, will talk about and sign copies her of 17th novel about sheriff Joanna Brady. This time around, in “Downfall,” Brady has a full plate of personal problems and the mysterious deaths of two women who fell off a nearby peak to investigate.

Jennifer A. Nielsen

4 p.m. Sept. 30, University Book Store

Nielsen will read from and sign copies of her new book for young readers, “The Scourge,” at the store, 15311 Main St., Mill Creek Town Center. In the medieval world of Keldan, a scourge has come upon the land and all those said to be infected are sent to Attic Island, a former prison, never to return.

2 p.m. Oct. 1, Everett Public Library

Robin, of Whidbey Island, co-wrote “Your Money or Your Life” nearly 25 years ago, but its message resonates in these financially challenging times. She will suggest ways to get out of debt, save money and live well for less. She has appeared TV and radio shows and has been featured in many national magazines.
