Notes: If you actually enjoyed the taste of snow we got earlier this week, this is a fine time of year to try some cross-country skiing. Cabin Creek is a good destination for beginners – it’s well signed and very popular. If you’re looking for a solitude and empty wilderness, Cabin Creek may not be the right destination, although the area’s trails are extensive enough to promise everyone a measure of peace. The easiest trails are the south trail at the parking lots, or the road, a mostly flat trail that heads a few miles north from the trailhead.
